Hardships and Changes to the Mission

Some problems they experienced at the mission was they had bad soil and no fresh water. It was bad because it was difficult to grow crops and food was very scarce. People were hungry. The Indians attacked the priests and burned the mission. There was and earthquake in 1803 that damaged the church. After the war, the mexican Govt. took the religion out of all the missions (secularization). The mission didn't change at all. It didn't need to be rebuilt because by the time they were goning to rebuilt it the mexican Govt. took out the religion in all missions. But they decided to rebuild my mission.
